Restrictions

Personal photography and videography is not allowed in dress rehearsals and shows.

We include access to a digital copy of the performance with all ticket purchases to ensure that audience members can enjoy the show and do not engage in recording the live performance. Personal video recording is not allowed in our shows for a multitude of reasons that all lead back to dancer safety and audience experience.

While all TDS dancers have consented to allowing TranscenDance Studios to capture and use their photo/video, dancers have not consented to allow others to capture and use their photo/video. By TDS controlling what video is captured and how it is edited, we can ensure that all dancers are presented in a safe and appropriate manner. Unplanned incidents may occur during live theater such as costume malfunctions, bathroom accidents, or even something as simple as a performer forgetting their dance. It is much easier to cut to a different camera angle in the editing process than to track down and erase video from 200 personal recording devices. Families can rest assured that we will always work to present their dancer in an appropriate manner and do not need to fear an embarrassing moment being caught on camera.

Additionally, it can be very frustrating for audience members to try and watch their dancer from behind the phone screen of the person seated in front of them. Separately, light from photo and video devices can be distracting to dancers and pose a safety hazard while performing on stage.

Any audience member refusing to comply with this request will be asked to leave the performance and their associated student risks removal from the TranscenDance Studios program.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our dancers safe by abstaining from personal photography and videography in all dress rehearsals and show.
